How can I use Google Maps's "Find nearest ____" technology with my own set of locations? - google zip code map

I have a mailing list where you will host concerts, and I want in my role as a website where people can "find the next event" to publish your address or zip code. Is it easy to do with Google Maps? Is there an easier way?
